That the West has now seamlessly transitioned from Covid to "climate crisis" points to conspiracy, to go back to an earlier discussion.

I recently read that the news media enjoys a trust rating just slightly higher than Congress (and just below monkeypox...). If that's so, why are people lining up behind the next "new thing"? And they are. This year I've had several people announce their concern over our planet's future. God help us.

I am sending out voodoo that Biden will flub it up in a speech and call it a "Climax Emergency." (Please, oh please!)

Fear does work until it doesn't. People do reach a point of exhaustion. Especially when that power-bill shows up and the hot dogs cost twice as much.

If "fear is the mind-killer," inflation is the mind-sharpener (due respect to Frank Herbert).
