Probably worth pointing out that Ireland is under the thumb of a gay Indian with an obvious disdain for his adopted land, and that this regime is growing threatened as the natives are starting to get restless in the face of relentless replacement migration. The Freedom of Speech is essential, because once people give away power to have someone else observed, muted, or even prosecuted, the same power will be used against them sooner or later:

Sorta surprised you didn't mention an egregious American example of criminalizing "hate speech." Especially since it involves a candidate for president.
I'll bet that the Irish lawmakers did not crawl to another country to grovel before that hostile foreign power to present their "hate speech" bill, and actually sign the bill into law before the foreign power's rulers and media. Because that's what the craven DeSantis did with his "hate speech" bill/law.
