I watched a Richard Lindzen video several ywars ago, in which he reletws that at MIT the # of students and faculty has remained relatively constant. But administrators, whose initial function was to make sure bills were paid and scientists had everything they needed, ec., began proliferating to the extent that they now have the highest salaries and greatest input into everything that goes on, even if it’s at the expence of the scientific research that was the original focus of the institutions.
