William said "academics is a competitive and often vicious sport". Ha I say. It's much worse than that...to this day I still have knives in my back!

Thank you for bringing this to my attention — I had no idea that this kind of thought was taking place.

Skating over the technical points of difference between Aristotle and Plato, it's interesting to me how closely Smith's image of the circle aligns with Platonist ideas of the cosmos, which also heavily influenced Western religion and occult/magical traditions. (Aristotle being a kind of Platonist "heretic" is no doubt instructive here.)

“Guided by Experts under the thrall of utilitarianism, another gift from the Enlightment…of that, we know too well.

Thank you for this observation and your intro to Wolfgang Smith.

I think my bp just dropped back to normal, and suddenly Monday looks like a beginning..

Became aware of him several years and have been following his thought. Did not know of his passing—thanks.

Before this disappears downstream in the Substack flow, I wanted to express my gratitude for it. I very recently revisited Meister Eckhart. Have known about him for many years but until now was not ready to gain much from his thought. Now that has changed. When I saw here that Wolfgang Smith also explored Eckhart and similar Christian thinkers, I immediately ordered two Smith titles that I am sure will prove very beneficial. And I have benefited greatly from your writing over the years, Matt. Cannot thank you enough. Always think back to my earliest days exploring Twitter. Kept coming back to that guy whose account image was Stanley Baker from the movie Zulu :) You have never disappointed!

Someone who's metaphysics allows for a diety is not a respectable philosopher bc they have the basics all wrong. https://philosocom.com/post/metaphysics-in-a-nutshell

"Quantum Enigma" is an essential read. Wolfgang's insights challenge conventional understanding, steering QM into a new direction. Who will continue his work?

'We have even begun to sketch out what he defined to be corporeal objects, i.e. those of our ordinary"

We have NOT even begun etc ..

The next sentence: "A great of our age"

"error"?

Your enemies really don't want this one to be received and understood.
