HaHaHa "The mortality cost of carbon."

Idiot!

The Left would not recognize irony if it was cow shit in a shopping bag marked "IRONY!!!" and hit them in the face.

This kind of useless, meretricious, woke, climate change crap so pervades modern journals of science (and medicine) that one wishes it could be put to good use, not by people reading or citing it, of course, but rather by people burying it among the carbon reservoir of the earth's surface, where it would decay and ultimately return to the atmosphere, thereby leaving at least some measurable legacy, or by people dumping it in the oceans, to become part of that vast carbon reservoir, ultimately converting into the shells of marine creatures and then limestone or marble, finally becoming useful, someday, as gravel for a county fair's parking lot or as a monument to Robert E. Lee.

From Nature Comunications Earth & Environment Journal to carbon to CO2 and gravel. Ashes to ashes; dust to dust. Thank God Almighty, useful at last. And it killed nobody.

Earth science is an observational science. We cannot experiment very much. We have to drill wells or build cyclotrons and other expensive things to test nature. So we usually use only our abductive reasoning and that invites imagination. That can be a good thing. Or a really bad thing.

Bressler uses the plural "we" several times, yet he is the sole author. That is poor form if others contributed, even if they were lowly grad students. I doubt anyone else, any other gate keeper, contributed to this paper leaving the always-fastidious "peers" at Nature to examine the equations and code.

The young Mr. Bressler must leave university soon, and the student loan monkey is hungry. So that post-doctoral or Think-Tank job is important.

This raises a point that I wish would get some momentum... why are we commoners serving the elites and governments in the first place? There must be some way to exclude them from society, to punish them for their disdain for us. I imagine they'd fall in line pretty quickly if nobody would work on their houses, cook their meals, drive them around, fly them places, clothe them or anything else. The Dutch farmers and the Canadian trucker convoy are well-intentioned but hurt the commoners... a real problem. If everyone went on strike against the a-holes trying to dictate to us how to live things would turn around very quickly.
