What are the odds?

"hmm.. we run things around here.. that Trump as president thinks he does.... the laptop is genuine of course.. but what if we make the shifty claim that it has "all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation".. it will both discredit Trump and not give him an October surprise on Biden.. who is easy to control and will be easier as dementia progresses... hmm... "

This class helped me clarify something that was only inchoate in my mind before. That is, conceptually, you can see two people take in the same piece of information and each becomes more entrenched in their prior views and even further apart than before the information. Of course, as you point out, this does not always happen but it's not uncommon.

I think a good teacher is one who, on the whole, brings people together more often than not. They are someone who knows how to communicate and foster the truth.
