It’s not completely clear to me why our blood and treasure must be expended in sorting this out. Why should people who were born long after wrongs were committed be on the hook to pay, and die, in futile attempts to right them?

Moreover, I think that the industry that Middle East Peace (and by peace I think they mean war) has become has gained its own, self-interested, momentum and logic. How much has the conflict been inflamed by careerists in various “departments” pursuing personal goals?

If there is no will to live in peace, how can there be a brokered “settlement”?

Well, the surnames of those who control the media and our politicians is, of course, the only reason why sabre-rattling outrage was expressed at the 10/7 event. 100,000 Armenians being ethnically cleansed by Azerbaijan weeks before this horror drew only yawns from American media.

All,

I read a soldier with the Arabs before deploying to Jordan.

The most important thing he did was LISTEN to what the locals said. Read the book.

LISTEN to the Palestinians, LISTEN to HAMAS.

They want the extinction of Israel, nothing less, and nothing more.

Actually one of them just broke it down Barney Style “We’re not social workers here to bring water and electricity to Gaza.”

The second most important thing he did was have the RAF slaughter Jihad Raiders coming up from Saudi Arabia in the 1920s.

Our only American interest is not stabbing our ally, our pattern of betrayal foreign and domestic should be stopped at any opportunity, and this is opportune.

It’s opportune because this splits the Left at its brain, its money too. From now on if the Jews pay the American and Western Left at all, it will be from fear.

And likely they will, but with seething hatred.

This split goes far beyond another meaningless election.

Not to mention crushing victory in Gaza will be seen (however incorrectly) as a victory for the West, and for our 🇺🇸 purposes against the Left.

Prior to WW I and the end of the Ottoman Empire, it was believed that "to the winners belong the spoils".

The Muslim leader of Palestine during World War II was Amin al-Husseini, who was the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the president of the Supreme Muslim Council. He was also the founder and chairman of the Arab Higher Committee, which represented the Palestinian Arab national movement.

During World War II, al-Husseini aligned himself with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, hoping that they would help him liberate Palestine from the British and the Jews. He met with Adolf Hitler and other Nazi leaders, and he made propaganda broadcasts for them. He also helped recruit Muslim volunteers for the SS and the Wehrmacht.

Old grievances die slowly.

I read that the Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin al-Husseini, was hoping for a German victory in World War 2 so he could establish extermination camps in Palestine and gas all of the Jews. Of course, you can't believe everything you read, but given his admiration of Hitler, and his policies of murdering political opponents and calling for the extermination of Jews, it is definitely plausible.

Foreign wars are a problem for foreigners. Those who struggle with this can ask themselves the following question: if your country was being invaded would Israelis or Arabs from Palestine come to help?

Both groups are ethnocentric. I have no issues with that. But both of these ethnicities have representatives at large in our countries in the west and both aggressively condemn and campaign against European nations remaining ethnocentric and are quick to condemn it as racism and hate.

That is my position on the whole affair.

Finkelstein & others covered some key aspects of this as well back in the day:

It is well documented for instance that even though Jews made up some 8-10% of the total population; they were to receive some 40%+ of the land as per the 1947 so called "partition plan".

This made the Arabs livid. Not only was this unjust... but the very concept that people who have had generations living there would need to vacate for some European Immigrants showing up and taking their land was completely unacceptable. From a purely secular perspective: Unacceptable!

Add in now the Religious Zionists who wished the Jews to control Al-Quds / Jerusalem to build their temple to hasten the coming back of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) and you get the idea.

The Arabs of the time knew they were dealing with Nutjob Messianics who cannot be "spoken to" or reasoned with. Which is why they all attacked simultaneously.

Unfortunately they lost (for a variety of reasons, owing to both their own incompetence & the overall competence in battle of their enemy). Afterward, their leaders became more secular and less well read. The issue became a 'purely secular one' for many (well, it was promoted as such):

The religious element was either de-emphasized or outright rejected by said new "leaders"; However the public have *always* known what Zionism's true goals are.

It is simply the case that in 2023, and outright Ethnic Cleansing & Genocide (admitted to LIVE on TV) was needed to jolt it back in memory within the overall consciousness.

Ahnaf Ibn Qais says, "The Arabs of the time knew they were dealing with Nutjob Messianics who cannot be "spoken to" or reasoned with. Which is why they all attacked simultaneously."

(1) It is well known that many of the early founders of Israel were very secular. The religious aspect to Zionism was greatly intensified only after the astonishing victories in the Six Day War.

(2) It is also well known that the invading armies of Syria, Jordan and Egypt were only seeking to grab territories for themselves, nothing more. They had zero regard for the Palestinians. This is demonstrated by the subsequent occupations of Gaza by Egypt and the West Bank by Jordan from 1949-1967. In that time exactly nothing was done to facilitate Palestinian independence. Moreover, in that time there was not a peep of Palestinian nationalism. The Palestinians were quite happy to be ruled by someone else, as long as they were Muslims and Arabs, not filthy and disgusting Jews cursed by Allah.

Ben Gurion & the founders were *mostly* secular. This is True.

But that the religious Zionists were a force back then is also the case.

As for your second point (re: the Palestinians being happy with "others ruling them so long as they were Arab"): Not really.

Some of them espoused "Pan-Arab" sentiment (these types of people were also in Iraq & elsewhere and later founded the Baathist parties) and it is *this group* who was happy with the outcome where Jordan annexed the West Bank & Egypt annexed Gazah.

But that the masses of Palestinians (a large chunk of whom had relocated to Gazah courtesy of the Nakbah) were opposed to Egypt is well known.

The Jordanian annexation of the West Bank was more tolerable because of the Hashemites & their relationship to being custodians over Holy Sites over the generations.

As for your final comment: It is well known that Jews & Muslims have lived over millenia (be it in Spain, North Africa, the Levant, etc) in peace. It is only in recent times that a minority amongst the Jews (i.e. the Zionists) have been taken issue with.

You are projecting Christian attitudes to Jews onto Muslims; which we never (nor will ever) have. Why not? Simple reason:

The Christians have historically viewed the Jews as "killers of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him)". The Muslim have not; because we do not believe He (Peace Be Upon Him) was crucified. Which is why it is fully permissible for Muslim men to marry Jewish women (not the case for many Christian men in many denominations).

That core tenet itself makes "full hatred of all Jews (which you imply)" impossible.

Expand full comment

Many religious Jews were opposed to a state of Israel (and some still are) because it has been founded by men and not by the Messiah. It was the recovery of Jerusalem and more of the biblical homeland in 1967 that greatly fueled religious Zionism. Of course religion was always a factor, but Ben Gurion, Dayan, Herzl, the entire Labor Party including Rabin, Peres, and many others were not overtly religious, though they respected religion and sought the support of the religious parties.

Pan Arabism was and is very common - it rejects the Western idea of the nation state and emphasizes religious community. This is one reason why there was never any real Palestinian nationalism - except in reaction against the Jews.

The masses may not have been thrilled by an Egyptian occupation, but at least the Egyptians were fellow Muslims, and there was no sustained and organized protest. If there had been Nasser would have crushed it without mercy.

The Jordanian annexation was more tolerable as you say, but still there was no great movement for independence (which Hussein also would not have allowed). Palestinians were content there without their own state.

That Jews and Muslims lived together in peace for centuries is a great oversimplification. First, Jews were easier to tolerate as a subjected minority in obedience to many Islamic restrictions and regulations - and even then it was far from being always good for the Jews. The Golden Age of Jews in Spain for example ended when the Almohads invaded Spain in 1147 and forced Jews to convert to Islam or leave the country. So it is not exclusively a recent problem caused by the Zionists.

There is a religious dimension, as to take only one example the Koranic Surah of the Cow (2:88) which says Allah has cursed the Jews because of their unbelief. This is not a projection of Christian attitudes, it is a deep part of Islamic culture.

As to the Jews being the killers of Christ, that was a slogan of drunken peasants and priestly demagogues in the Middle Ages. Much medieval Christianity had nothing at all to do with the Bible, including the entire papal system.

Today many Bible-believing Christians support Israel and understand that Jews and Gentiles were involved with Christ's death because Christ died for the sins of the whole world. As we read in Acts 4:27, "For of a truth both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles [Romans], and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy child Jesus."

Moreover, many Christians believe, as I do, that the survival of the Jews and their return to their ancient homeland has been due to the will of God. This does not mean that the Israelis can do no wrong. There are thieves, prostitutes, criminals and shortsighted politicians in Israel. The Israeli government can be wrong, the army is composed of ordinary people who are not always kind, gentle and loving, but the Palestinians are no angels either.

About marriage, the Bible says Christians should marry Christians, a husband and wife should have the same basic beliefs. There are Jews and Arabs who believe in Christ, there is no objection to a Christian marrying such.

It is as you say possible for a Muslim man to marry a Jewish woman, but not for a Jewish man to marry a Muslim woman. This is because in Muslim marriage the wife is supposed to be in total obedience and subjection to her husband.

About hatred of Jews, I worked in the Muslim world for about 18 years, Saudi Arabia and Oman, teaching English. I had many positive experiences there and never had any problems as a Christian and an American. Many Muslims are quite ordinary people, but they are not so strict about Islam either. But the more deeply they become committed to the Koran the more they believe that once territory becomes Islamic it should be so forever, and they cannot accept Jewish domination, and that Jews are the inherent enemy of Islam.

Let’s start from the top.

I agree: Many Jews back then (and today) are opposed to the Zionist entity. However a significant chunk of religious Jews *did* sign on with the project because (in their view) it made the Third Temple (and its construction) all the more easier if you directly control the land.

There was always Palestinian nationalism; it simply had different “shades” over the past few decades. However, it has now been supplanted by the larger, Ummatic idea of Filistin as part of the Muslim world proper. And this Ummatic (as opposed to merely “political”) idea is why the conflict has gone regional so rapidly.

Jews have always been a protected peoples. Under the Dhimmi system they have always had the right to practice their religion and do so in their own communities. The main restriction in Islamic history (and this is consistent over the centuries) is with regard to leadership & military posts which they were barred from.

Unless you are someone trained in Tafsir and related Islamic Sciences, you are not really qualified to take prescriptive protocols from the Qur’aan. There is no “deep hatred of Jews” amongst Muslim society. There is hatred for the Zionist, and for those Jews on their side. There is at the same time great love & adoration for those Jews who do not sign on with the Zionist ploy.

I am not a Biblical scholar, so I cannot affirm or deny whether your reading of the verse is accurate. What I can say is that the Bible was improperly transmitted; so whatever good (or ill) is in it, needs to be taken with that understanding in mind.

With that being said: In general I agree with the sentiment that “not every Israeli is evil & not every Palestinian is good”. Sure! But practically speaking; the majority of the world at the moment view Israel (and its citizenry) being on “team genocide”.

The Palestinians meanwhile (on said front) are viewed as those peoples being “genocide-d”. So even if we have completely different ethical starting points; the practical “on the ground” reality is this… Israel is fast becoming a Pariah and the Palestinians are being vindicated in their struggle for Liberation.

All Muslims have to believe in the Prophethood of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him), so it’s not “some Arabs”. It is rather “ALL Muslims” (Arab or not) have to believe in him, otherwise they are not Muslim. This is basic Islamic Creed 101.

As for marriage: The Wife Devotes herself and submits to the Husband’s authority. Correct. That is the leadership role that the latter possesses over the former. And this is precisely why Muslim women are forbidden from marrying non-Muslim men, so this point you raise is correct. And this is perfectly legitimate!

Regarding your own life experience: I will be blunt here (so apologies in advance)- but unless you have sincerely sought to understand people not on your terms and starting points, but on theirs: you would not hold this view. In particular, the more religious the Muslim becomes the better force he becomes for not just fellow Muslims but likewise for all of humanity. This is why the “nominal Muslim” who is not too serious about the religion needs to be rapidly re-acquainted with the faith.

In a sense, this has already happened with this mass Ummatic awakening. Once it flowers in full, other parts of the Muslim world can be re-acquired, such as Al-Andalus (i.e. The so called “Iberian” Peninsula). Once again: perfectly legitimate!

We do not accept Zionist domination. The Jews are divided; not all of them support the Zionist entity. So it’s wrong for you to say “Jewish” domination. We also do not accept non-Muslim rule over the Holy Land or the lands of Islam in general. This (once again): is perfectly legitimate!

They have lived largely in peace, although there were outbreaks, such as the Druze massacres of Jews in Safed in 1650. No doubt there were attacks on both sides. But Every Jewish person I have ever spoken to has said we would sooner live with Muslims rather than Christians. The reason is simple: “At least the Muslims allowed us to live”.

It’s also important to note that Jordan was originally part of the territory originally defined as Palestine, so the claim that Arabs were given a smaller portion of land is not quite correct, at least according to my understanding.

Correct. The Muslim rulers occasionally transgressed:

However Muslim jurists have always (right up until the present day) been in unanimous agreement on this issue:

Namely; the people of the book who pay the Jiziya & engage with the leadership as productive citizens (as opposed to formenting rebellion) are to be defended.

They are part of the society every bit as the Muslims therefore.

As for your other point; myself (and most pious Muslims) reject the whole basis behind Sykes-Picot & the succeeding 'partitions', so it's really a moot point 'what land belongs to such & such nation state' For us the matter is a simple one:

Filistin houses Masjid Al-Aqsa & is a vital part of Islamic territory. The optimal outcome is that the future Khilafa use it as their capital polity.

Nationalist arguments meanwhile (I.e. what lands belongs to which ethnic, linguistic, etc group) we consider to be secondary.

I wish nothing but good for Palestinians, despite their history of total intransigence and they should have a viable state if only they would try to build one but your idea of Zionism is warped and biased. There has not been one year in which there were not Jews living in so-called Palestine’ and hanging onto their land throughout every imperialist occupation. On that basis it is and remains Jewish land whether you like it or not. Islamic claims to the holy mount are based on a dream Mohamed had and the idea that once conquered by Islam is Islamic land which goes against all ideas of justice and should be rejected. Once people recognise rights of all populations that were originally living there then a just peace can be worked towards. That peace will not happen until Muslims learn to understand that God doesn’t care what religion you belong to and respects good and free conscience. Islam has never brought peace even in Muslim countries, except for those for whom Islam has mellowed into something more cultural. Mohammed, if he was a prophet, was a deeply flawed and confused one.

As the Hebrew bible clearly states, “God hears the prayers of all peoples”.

Jews have lived in the Holy land for millenia, this is true.

HOWEVER, there are different groups.

The Ashkenazi are primarily of Turkic & East European descent who came to Judaism in the 10th century CE. They are NOT 'native' to the region.

The Sephardim primarily are from Al-Andalus & nearby regions.

The Misrahi are more native to the region & have ties to the land for centuries & millenia.

Our position is clear: All Settlers, Europeans & Colonists need to leave.

All Jews native to the soil with lineage & ancestry that is sound can stay.

All palestinians (all 15+ million of them; including the 10 million outside the 1948 so called 'borders') will be returning.

If you feel that the "religious" stance is unsound; that is your view!

For us, Al-Aqsa is the First Qibla & one of the First Mosques ever built (i.e. at the very dawn of Humanity). There is no 'concession' on this matter.

Some of the structures there are more recent (such as the Dome of the Rock), but the entire Complex was endowed to the Muslims by Allah Most High long ago.

Islam will never become something 'cultural'. This is a mythology born from the assumption that a lack of religiousness in urban Muslims somehow translates to the majority tending toward said views of liberalism, godlessness, etc.

It is only a matter of time till the Khilafa is re-established.

The only question left unanswered is: What sort of relationship does the so-called "West" want with the inheritors of said Prophetic Way? Is it going to be dialogue & conciliation or Conflict & war?

Make no mistake: Secularism & Nationalism are on the way out and so are all the derivative Westphalian ideals you assume de facto. Islam meanwhile, is here to stay.

What I find staggering about Glubb is: a British Establishment figure could be so clear-eyed about the inevitable mess of a multi-racial country, yet his Establishment contemporaries and successors have been hell bent on creating one in Britain. With bizarre circularity, a Labour government with British Jews in key Cabinet positions, without democratic mandate opened the taps on mass immigration in 1997, subsequently importing millions of Muslims; leading to mass antisemitism on the streets of Britain today and a Labour Party dominated by Muslims. As far as I can tell, pretty good evidence there is not a Jewish cabal running the world, or if there is, they are not very good at it.

Glubb Pasha has presented a very one-sided and propagandistic version of the facts. There are two sides to every story, but one would never know it from Glubb's one-dimensional distortions.

He omits to mention that the Jews accepted a compromise and the Arabs rejected it.

He neglects to mention that the fighting began not in 1948, when the British withdrew, but in 1947 when armed Arab gangs were attempting to kill as many Jews as possible (and robbing and murdering Palestinian Arabs as well).

He fails to point out that Palestinians were fleeing the country months before the war broke out in 1948; that Israel only occupied the West Bank in response to Jordanian aggression in 1967; that Israeli offers to negotiate over newly conquered territories in 1967 were completely rejected ("No peace, no recognition, no negotiation').

He fails to point out the many policies carried out by the Israelis in a desperate struggle for survival in which defeat meant mass slaughter, and repeats Arab atrocity stories, many of which are either pure fiction or distorted and exaggerated. He fails to point out the hundreds of terrorist attacks carried out from Jordan and Egypt before 1967. He completely omits the Islamic, religious dimension to the problem, which portrays the Jews as cursed by Allah and worthy of death.

He ludicrously compares the Arab Israeli conflict to the Nazi invasion of France, and consistently ignores many other pertinent facts, showing himself to be nothing more than a dishonest propagandist for the Arab side.

A much more detailed, objective and honest narration of the events leading up to the establishment of modern Israel is found in Ephraim Karsh's excellent book "Palestine Betrayed." Karsh points out how the Palestinian leadership brought disaster on themselves by their policies of blind hatred and rejection of any and all compromise. They tried to destroy Israel and failed.

Glubb also neglects to point out that Jordan controlled the West Bank from 1949-1967 and did exactly nothing to establish Palestinian independence.

Gaza was given independence when the Israelis pulled out in 2005, and countless millions of dollars intended to benefit the Palestinian people were instead devoted to building a war machine with the stupid goal of trying to destroy the most militarily powerful region in the region. As Abba Eban said, "The Palestinians have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity."

Expand full comment

No Palestinian claimed Gaza either whilst the Egyptians had control of it. Why? Because the many let in by the British before 1948 were from neighbouring countries. Their leaders (many of whom, including Arafat, hailed from elsewhere (Egypt in the case of Arafat, who by the way died with billions in the bank).

The best case study of the power of influence operations--covert influence, overt influence, lobbying, propaganda, and more--is the Zionist op against the USA, from ~1900 to today.

Glubb's facts were, pre-1948, well known by American officials, diplomats, intelligence, Christians, and others who paid attention. In the following 75 years, the massive influence operation has infected the minds of Americans, and co-opted our political class.

A tiny country, based on a racist-supremacist world-view ("Chosen Ones" vs. the rest of humanity), now extracts billions of dollars from us, with no strings attached. With our money, they conduct ethnic cleansing, murder, torture, steal, and generally oppress the people from whom they stole, with our connivance, the land. With our money and with us flying international top cover, they attack us (USS Liberty), steal our secrets and nuclear materials (Pollard and uranium), spy on us, manipulate us, and generally revile us. And we grovel and ask for more abuse. The psychotic American Evangelical Zionists, like Pence, et al, welcome the abuse, and crave more. There may not be a more dysfunctional bi-lateral foreign relationship than this one, in the history of the world.

Something's gotta give.

You mentioned Jonathan Pollard, the Jew who spied on America for Israel - here is a list of American spies on Wikipedia (not always the best source, I know, but often useful for a starting point): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_American_spies

It lists literally dozens of Americans who spied for Russia. You might look up Aldrich Ames or John Anthony Walker.

Is it the Jews who are to blame for our southern border being left open? For billions of dollars being helicoptered out of Washington? For the fentanyl crisis? For the US government pushing the transgender ideology with no regard whatever for the will of the common people? Are the Jews to blame for the current problems of homelessness, crime and drugs in LA and San Francisco?

This weird obsession people have with Jews is really strange.

You say they extract billions from us - and how many billions were wasted on Vietnam, on Iraq, on the Ukraine, on Afghanistan, and on the COVID crisis? I was sent a Covid check when I was working, had a full income, had no financial need whatever, and the US government says "Here, have some free money!"

Many of Glubbs "facts" are nothing but dishonest and distorted propaganda and deliberate and well-known falsifications.

Judaism is not racist, and not supremacist, all they want is one little corner of the huge Arabic dominated Middle East. The problems stem from Muslim hostility to Jews. If the Arabs had no attacked Israel and tried to wipe it out in 1948, and persisted in trying to wipe it out, still dreaming today of the final destruction of Israel to be replaced by one more Arabic dictatorship (of which we have enough already) or by a huge Islamic empire - then there would be peace.

Not sure what the Wikipedia list of spies is supposed to prove, for it has nothing to do with the subject at hand. Close-minded adulation of a hostile foreign power blinds one to the cold hard reality that we live in. Ignoring reality doesn't make it go away. Calling a fish a fowl won't make it fly.

The Comintern, and the USSR, were, and were acknowledged to be, the mortal enemies of our way of life. They were dedicated to destroying America, and all aspects of Normal American culture.

Israel, on the other hand, is, and has been touted as "America's best friend," "the only democracy in the Middle East," etc, etc, etc. In addition to Zionism weasling into the belief system of American Christian Evangelicals, who've bought-in to the tragic belief that "the Chosen" ones, after returning to "their homeland" will make war that will trigger the Apocalypse, returning the Messiah to earth, whipping Mike Pence and his confused brethren away and up to heaven.

There is absolutely no comparison of the vile deeds committed against the USA by Israel and by the Comintern. Anyone who thinks there is needs to devote a lot more time to the study of actual history. Enemies spy and attack. Best friends don't.

If Russia, or any other nation, attacked an American warship for an extended period of time, bombing, strafing, torpedoing, killing, and maiming, we would declare war, decimate the tiny country that did it to us, and likely invade and conquer. Not so "our closest ally." They destroy an American warship, killing dozens of American sailors, and slink away scot-free. Ditto their massive espionage operations, run for decades, against their greatest benefactor. Unprecedented in scope and effect, we just pretend its not happening.

The covert influence operation that has American blood and treasure in the thrall of this hostile foreign power is unprecedented. Israel, and the enemies that it has made in its neighborhood in its short existence, receive more American aid money annually, than the rest of the world combined. In addition, we lavish military aid on Israel, unprecedented (before Ukraine) amounts. We give them military technology. And more, and more, and more.

And what do we get in return? Comintern-level espionage and covert actions against us; military attacks against an American ship; infiltration of, and subversion of, our elections and legislative structures; infiltration of, and subversion of, our media; infiltration of, and subversion of, Hollywood; and more, much, much more.

"Israel's Aggressive Spying in the U.S. Mostly Hushed Up

Israel has been caught carrying out aggressive espionage operations against American targets for decades, according to U.S. intelligence officials and congressional sources. And they still do it. They just don't get arrested very often."

https://www.newsweek.com/israels-aggressive-spying-us-mostly-hushed-250278

"Israel runs one of the world’s most aggressive and damaging espionage networks against the U.S.

One senior American diplomat explains that inside the State Department “everybody knows that Israel spies on us. When someone is caught, they’re ‘punished’ by being promoted.”

In 2006 a Pentagon judge stated categorically: “The Israeli government is actively engaged in military and industrial espionage in the United States.”"

"Cost of Israel to the US

Our uniquely massive support for Israel has cost trillions of dollars and multitudes of lives. It has diminished our moral standing in the world, lessened our domestic freedoms, and exposed us to unnecessary and growing peril.

The majority of Americans – as well as our diplomatic and military experts – oppose this unique relationship. Yet, the lobby for Israel continues to foment policies that are disastrous for our nation and tragic for the region."

USS Liberty

"On June 8, 1967, the USS Liberty, was attacked by Israeli Air Force jet fighter aircraft and Israeli Navy motor torpedo boats. At the time of the attack, the ship was in international waters north of the Sinai Peninsula, about 29 miles northwest from the Egyptian city of Arish.

On the USS Liberty, 34 American servicemen were killed and 174 wounded.

After getting away with this "act of war against the United States" (according to Admiral Thomas Moorer, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff), many believe the Israeli government concluded that it could get away with anything.

For 40 years, survivors of the USS Liberty have been forbidden "to tell their story under oath to the American public." The cover-up of Israel's attack on the USS Liberty, begun under the Johnson administration, continues to this day."

Israel Lobby

"The Israel lobby is one of the most powerful and pervasive special interest groups in the United States. It consists of a multitude of institutions and individuals that work to influence Congress, the president, academia, the media, religious institutions, and American public opinion on behalf of Israel."

Denial is not a river in Egypt. Eyes wide open, mind open, and reality emerges. It may be scary, but it's real.

The what-aboutism argument.

I am glad to know that you are aware that dozens of Americans have betrayed their own country to a deadly enemy. That makes one Israeli spy look like small potatoes. Do many American spies make America look bad, the way you used one to make Israel look bad?

There is a long list of American problems (as indicated above) that have exactly nothing to do with Israel, and are vital to our future as a nation.

Again, the assertion that Israel is racist and supremacist is inaccurate. Arab Israeli citizens have more rights and freedoms in Israel than they do in any other Arab country. You can find some inequities to point to, just as there are many US citizens who suffer some form of injustice or another at the hands of our own government.

No where does the Old Testament assert Jewish moral or racial superiority. Moses married an Ethiopian, and non-Jews who adopted the Jewish religion were accepted. In fact, the Bible has many passages exposing the sinfulness and disobedience of the Jews who - according to the biblical narrative - were expelled by God from the land because of their wickedness. That the Jews have now returned to their ancient homeland is a fulfilment of many biblical prophecies from centuries before Christ. This does not mean the Jews are perfect or entitled to do everything they like, but it does mean they have a right to a place there.

If you want to dismiss the religious element as irrelevant, as many do, then you will never understand the religious element to Arab/Islamic opposition to Israel either, which is the true motivation for the abiding desire to destroy Israel.

You may know that before the Six Day War Israel was considered a small and insignificant country by the US government. It wasn't until they turned fancy Soviet equipment to junk in a very short time that the potential advantages of this small country became evident to US planners.

It may be that you have written elsewhere decrying all of the money wasted by the US government from China after WWII through Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Ukraine. If so, well and good. But if none of that matters, and only money given to Israel matters - much of it being spent on American equipment - then I have to question your motives.

About the USS Liberty, another Wikipedia page lists hundreds of incidents of deaths by friendly fire, including this incident from the Vietnam War:

"19 November 1967, during the Battle of Dak To a U.S. Marine Corps A-4 Skyhawk aircraft flown by Lieutenant Colonel Richard Taber dropped two 250 lb (110 kg) bombs on the command post of the 2nd Battalion (Airborne) 503d Infantry, 173d Airborne Brigade while they were in heavy contact with a numerically superior People's Army of Vietnam force. At least 45 paratroopers were killed and another 45 wounded. Also killed was the Battalion Chaplain Major Charles J. Watters, who was subsequently awarded the Medal of Honor"

Nice chatting with you, buddy.

Since it's impossible to get through the bubble you apparently live in, I'll just rest my case here. Good luck with the tribulations that come with being a shabbos goy!

Shalom and Mazel Tov!

The US has destroyed the economy of every nation that dared to do something for “the other” by calling it communism. One cannot compare the harm Americans have done globally with anyone or anything. And US aid to Israel is done for US interests only and goes straight into the hands of US munitions manufacturers, from your wallet to the psychopaths that have brainwashed you all. The US controls Israel not the other way around and this war is another US proxy war, this time against Iran.

Americans suffer from a national psyche which is immature - adolescent even. And paranoid. Someone else is always to blame. The US was founded by religious extremists who also, along with Muslims, think they are the replacement “chosen ones”. Pot, kettle black comes to mind every time an American speaks. They have basically taken up where the nazis left off. Hardly surprising considering the number of nazis they took in after WWII and placed in top positions.

I've already humped a ruck for Uncle Satan's shilling. I don't want anyone else of my folk to do it again. I wish the best of luck and good game to both teams and hope they all have a jolly good war without me and mine.

Perhaps, but at the end of the day pretending the rest of the world doesn't exist won't make it go away.

No, but getting involved doesn't make things better for anyone. Especially for the poor bastards sacrificing life and limb on the altar of state policy for rather dubious gains.

Eventually war will come to the US anyway, and then we'll have to fight it without the benefit of our alliance structure.

That is not a reason to get involved in foreign adventures of choice.

Fat chances. This is another US war.
