RA Fisher saw statistical inference as the 20th century’s great answer to the problem of induction — how to gain reliable empirical knowledge about the world. For Fisher, valid statistical inferences must not only meet certain mathematical conditions, but also remind us of the provisional nature of our knowledge — what he called rigorous uncertainty.
“Meet the mathematical conditions”? Hahahaha — first you’d have to know what they are. That requires real mathematical statistics, not just data crunching in R or SPSS. Very few ever venture that deep. And then there’s the “rigorous uncertainty” part — good luck finding that in today’s literature. Honestly, I can’t recall a single study in the past decade that satisfied one, let alone both, of Fisher’s standards.
Readjust for GPA values using African Immigrants (ex. Nigeria) vs White instead of American Blacks and some very very interesting values will appear....
Yes indeed. When I was in graduate school a fellow student was from Uganda. He was very smart and a lot of fun. He could not understand what was wrong with the blacks in the US. One night after class we were down in the campus pub having a beer and he looked me square in the eyes and said "Paul, why are the blacks here so stupid?" I was speechless and said I don't know. There were times we would be out together and a black guy would come to him and say "hey brother...." and he would yell at the guy you're not my brother. My brother is in Uganda!
Nigerians are a pretty unusual case for an immigrant group in America. They haven't had any special deals, they can't hop on boats and get here. It is nearly impossible for an average Nigerian to get a tourist/business visa to visit America (and then overstay). Generally, Nigerians in America are the upper 1% of the country--the elite of a country whose average IQ is 67. Nigeria might not be a good example. And the values that appear are not likely to be representative.
How about using Somali immigrants. Or Haitian immigrants. Both groups have had massive special programs for immigration into the USA. Both those groups, in America, are more representative of their countries--Haiti average IQ = 67; Somalia = 67, surprisingly enough, this is pretty much par for the course for sub-Saharan African populations. Haiti's population is largely pure African.
I’ve had the same experience with other blacks from African countries not just Nigeria. I understand that the person’s here were advanced and took up engineering, but one things for for sure it’s not genetic.
"I understand that the person’s here were advanced and took up engineering, but one things for for sure it’s not genetic."
The profile of Nigerians in the USA is, generally, the top 1% of their top 1%. The smartest of the smartest of a literally retarded population (avg. IQ 67). Nigerians who can afford to come to America, and who can get visas, are the cream of the cream--financially, socially, intellectually. A Nigerian in engineering school in the USA is NOT representative of the Nigerian population.
Same for most other sub-Saharan African populations (although the Biden years open borders did flood us with many more typical Africans than we had in the past). But legal immigrants from sub-Saharan nations are, generally, the top 1% of their top 1%. Ugandans, Congolese, Ivory Coasters, etc, if they are here legally, are 6 standard deviations to the right samples of their populations.
American blacks, are descendants of Africans who were not smart enough to avoid capture by the ancestors of the Africans who remained in Africa (mixed with 10+ generations of occasional additions of white genes--thus the higher average IQ than their relatives who stayed behind in Africa).
Have a good friend at work and we’ve had the same discussion. He’s from Nigeria and his answer is American blacks are hostage to kind of “mental slavery”.
To which I say, yes by the Democratic Party, on purpose.
Controlled experiments or studies...kind of like the medical studies where they try and control several variables. Among a group of 1,000 participants, the variables are going to be all over the map. They may control a few specific inputs but hardly all of them. I cannot trust any of these studies no matter how "golden" the science is.
So few actually follow Fisher’s advice.

This is it.
